It's that time of year again when we look back on what we accomplished over the past 12 months and look ahead to even more ideas, how-to guides, and projects we want to share. 2023 marked our ninth (!) year of Dunn DIY and was made even more memorable thanks to the Dunn employees who joined us to share their own skillsets and project plans.
It felt only fitting that our annual year in review post featured their hard work and unique designs. From practical storage solutions to just-for-fun game accessories, below you'll find our Dunn employee DIY projects from 2023.
How To Build an Adjustable Laptop Stand
Simon from our Bellevue Dunn Lumber location built a clever DIY contraption of his own design: an adjustable laptop stand he named the "Atlas" after the Greek god it was inspired by.

How To Make a Piano Coat Rack
John from our Shoreline store came across a "piano key" coat rack online and was drawn to its look and functionality—but not the surprisingly high price tag. So, he designed a budget-friendly version with “keys” that fold out to hang your things.

DIY Rotating Bookshelf
Alice, a long-time DIYer, found that she always needs more shelves to store her ever-growing book collection. The solution? This rotating bookshelf designed with four shelves on four sides for maximun storage space.

DIY Hanging Plant Stand
David—or “Grishy” as our team knows him—from our Lynnwood location, chose a simple structure paired with beautiful cedar decking boards, for an easy-to-build hanging plant stand with a clean, finished look.

DIY Truck Camper Bed with Storage
Max from our corporate office loves to truck camp and wanted to make his experience more functional and comfortable. His version of a truck camper bed with storage can be customized to fit your own truck—and provides a surprisingly nicer spot to roll out a sleeping mat!

DIY Dice Tower
Eli from our Lake Union location combined his strong DIY background with his love of gaming to design this wooden DIY dice tower. Just drop some die in the top and they'll bounce off hidden pieces inside the tower before dropping out the bottom for a fair (and fun) roll.

And there you have it. As always, thank you for being part of the Dunn DIY family—we'll see you next year!
