After making our headboard at the beginning of the summer, we loved it so much that we decided to try again with a more complex wood. Cedar is still easy to use, but has more personality than the basic construction lumber and pine we used in summer.
If you'd like to give this cedar headboard a try, follow this tutorial!
There were a few changes in this process. This time we used a Penofin Verde Natural Stain to protect our wood.
When painting, we used a bristle brush for the hard to reach creases where the slats came together.
Then, to stain the rest of the pieces—we used this sponge applicator, which worked great!
The cedar adds a gorgeous, darker look than our pine headboard. We can’t wait to see your results!
